Cory Booker Food Stamps, Newark Mayor Cory Booker says he plans on living on food stamps for at least a week after receiving a challenge on Twitter. Booker is a vegetarian, yet creating a meal on food stamps will still require that he make some lifestyle adjustments--while adding in a dash of creativity. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the average monthly food stamp benefit was $133.26 per person in New Jersey in fiscal year 2011. While he won't have the more expensive meat products to buy, the busy mayor won't be able to purchase convenience foods either.  When you're on food stamps you're not allowed to buy prepared items: no fast food, deli sandwiches, for example. Mouseketeer Dies, Former Mousekeeteer Bonita Lynn Fields Elder, an agile dancer who showcased those skills on the 1950s children's show, has died in Indiana at age 68. Fields' cousin, Robbin Myers, of DeBary, Fla., said Tuesday that Fields died Saturday at a Richmond hospital following a two-year battle with throat cancer. She said Fields moved to Indiana a few years ago to care for her ailing, now-deceased mother. Fields was 12 when her dancing abilities helped her win a slot on "The Mickey Mouse Club" in 1957 in the show's third season. She auditioned in California, where her family had moved from Indiana when she was 9. Myers says Fields went by the name Lynn but adopted the stage name "Bonnie," a shortened version of her first name, for the show.

Free money ATM, I just had to share this story…this happened at Glasgow in Scotland.  Do you see the lengthy queue formed in this photo? Well, some people had gone to an ATM in Burnside, Glasgow to withdraw some cash, when they noticed the ATM was dispensing double the amount of money requested by customers making withdrawals. Word of the fault quickly spread as  a picture of the queue at the bank machine was posted on Twitter. Excited customers flocked to the Bank of Scotland ATM for a share of the windfall. The Police were later alerted and they stood guard at the cashpoint until the bank could shut down the machine. One user, Lauren, tweeted: ‘The bank of Scotland at Burnside was giving out double money now police are standing there so no one can go to it #gutting’. Warren Rudman dies, New Hampshire (Reuters) - Former U.S. Senator Warren Rudman, a moderate New Hampshire Republican known for a budget deal that helped slash government deficits in the 1990s, died on Monday at age 82, state officials said. Rudman, who served in the Senate from 1980 to 1993, was best known for his work in the 1980s on what became known as the Gramm-Rudman Act — a bipartisan budget agreement that provided automatic cuts to federal spending if the deficit exceeded certain targets. A platoon leader in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, Rudman was a successful New Hampshire lawyer who was appointed attorney general for the state in 1970. Brandi Cochran, 41, said she was rejected by the game show's producers when she tried to return to work in early 2010 after taking maternity leave. The Superior Court jury determined her pregnancy was the reason she wasn't rehired and awarded Cochran $776,944 in the suit against producers FremantleMedia North America and The Price is Right Productions. In their defense, producers said they were satisfied with the five models working on the show at the time Cochran sought to return. A second phase of the trial will determine whether Cochran should be awarded punitive damages. Cochran's attorneys had asked for more than $8 million, City News Service reported. Girl fatally shot on school bus, A South Florida teen charged with fatally shooting a girl while riding a school bus will remain in a juvenile detention center. The 15-year-old waived his right to appear in court Wednesday morning. He’s not being identified by The Associated Press because of his age. An arrest report says the minor took a gun from his backpack Tuesday and began displaying it on the bus. He then fired it once, hitting 13-year-old Lourdes Guzman. She died at the hospital. The boy is charged with manslaughter and carrying a concealed firearm. Miami Bus Shooting, A 13-year-old girl was tragically shot to death in front of her younger sister and seven other children while riding a school bus Miami-Dade Police said today. The girl, whose identity has not been released was flown to Miami Children's Hospital after reportedly receiving a wound to her neck where she later died. She was a student at the Palm Glades Preparatory Academy charter school. Police have said a male student has been taken into custody but authorities did not release his name or age and said they are still interviewing him. A gun was also recovered at the scene in Homestead, south of Miami.'We still don't know what the motive may have been,' said police spokesman Detective Alvaro Zabaleta. Eight other children, including the victim's 7-year-old sister, were on the bus but were not harmed. However, there is a new video that has surfaced that shows that the "Human Barbie" may be fake. Monkey Death Arrest, Police have arrested one of two men who they believe broke into an Idaho zoo the night a monkey there died from blunt-force trauma, but questions remain about how and why the animal was killed. Michael J. Watkins, 22, of Weiser was arrested Monday in Washington County on felony burglary and grand theft charges. A tip from a citizen led police to Watkins after identifying a hat found in the monkey's enclosure as similar to one Watkins was wearing the night two intruders were spotted at Zoo Boise.  A security guard frightened away the intruders, then discovered the gravely injured patas monkey, which died a short time later.Masterson said at a news conference Monday evening that Watkins sought care at a hospital for injuries to his upper torso sometime after the early Saturday incident.
