Michelle Williams and Jason Segal

Three's never a crowd for Michelle Williams and Jason Segal as they go on schoolrun to meet Matilda, Not many fathers have the time to pick their children up from school on a regular basis.
It's telling then, that actor Jason Segal has stepped into a routine of picking girlfriend Michelle Williams' daughter Matilda up on the days when the in-demand actor is not on set.

It's just one more sign that the How I Met Your Mother star is beyond serious about his long-term commitment to Michelle and little Matilda, who turns seven next month.

Fashion icon Michelle, 31, looked stunning as usual in a sleeveless polka-dot blouse, black pants and black canvass sandals.

Segal, who is has been looking more groomed since he started dating the My Week with Marilyn actress, looked casual but smart in a checked shirt and jeans.
Matilda, who is looking more like her late father Heath Ledger by the day, was dressed for the warm summer day in a pale pink singlet top and dark pink Indian cotton skirt, with sweet pink flowered sandals on her feet.

Segel is so committed to his 'stepdaughter' that he contacted her later father's family to reassure them he has her best interests at heart.

The actor is said to have reached out to Heath Ledger's family to let them know they are always welcome to spend time with the late star's daughter Matilda.

The How I Met Your Mother actor reportedly contacted Kim Ledger, Heath's father, to say he is there for his granddaughter and her mother, his girlfriend Michelle Williams.

'Jason got on the phone and introduced himself to Kim, and then invited the Ledgers to use his home whenever they wanted to fly in from Australia to visit Michelle and Maddie,' a source close to the Ledger family told Radar.

'Now Kim's given his blessing for Jason to marry Michelle and be a stepdad to Matilda,' the source added.

The two actors went public with their relationship only last April at the Five Year Engagement premiere in April.

The bi-coastal couple - who split their time between Michelle's New York base and Jason's LA abode - were the subject of engagement rumours last month, are frequently photographed spending time with little Matilda.

News of Jason and Michelle possibly considering marriage comes amid reports Segel is set to quit US television show, How I Met Your Mother.

The actor is to bow out of the comedy series after he completes filming on its eighth series as his Hollywood career has taken off in recent years with diverse roles in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up, The Muppets and most recently The Five Year Engagement.

Michelle amicably ended her three-year relationship with Heath in September 2007, and the following January he died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.
