Fred Willard tweets arrest

Fred Willard tweets arrest - Comedian Fred Willard, 72, is starting to speak out about his recent arrest after allegedly committing a lewd act at a Hollywood adult movie theater. The actor took to Twitter to jokingly address the incident. He also took time to promote an improv show he's currently hosting and poke fun at a TV station that booted him.

Fred Willard seems to have a sense of humor about his recent arrest for alleged lewd conduct. The actor took to Twitter to break his silence about the incident on Monday, telling followers that his version of events is “much more PG.”

He tweeted, “Wait til u hear my version; much more PG. & my review, lousy film, but theater would make a terrific racquetball court. Full story 2 follow.”

Willard was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of committing a lewd act at an adult movie theater in Hollywood. Hours later, he was fired as the narrator of the PBS show “Market Warriors.”

The actor also used Twitter to promote the ABC show he hosts, “Trust Us With Your Life.”

“I was not fired from TUWYL so B sure 2 watch,” he wrote.

Prosecutors said last week that Willard’s case is eligible for a diversion program that will allow him to escape formal charges of lewd conduct if he completes the required courses.

The actor’s lawyer defended him after the arrest, releasing a statement to TMZ saying, “With all due respect to the individual officer, our belief is that Fred did nothing in any violation of any law. We will be working vigorously to clear his name in this matter.”

The BBC achieved a large share of the UK viewing figures for Friday's (April 29) ceremony, with a peak figure of 20 million tuning in to the corporation's broadcast of the Westminster Abbey service. More than 34 million people caught at least some of the Royal Wedding coverage through the BBC, including on its iPlayer service, reports BBC News. Sky News said it had a peak of 661,000 viewers at the start of the wedding ceremony, while BBC Two, Channel 4 and Five only made up 1 per cent of the audience as the nuptials began.
