Janet Jackson named 'Grinch'

Janet Jackson named 'Grinch'

Janet Jackson named 'Grinch'?, Pop diva Janet Jackson has been named Grinch of the Year by PETA . Jackson was awarded the title because of her collaboration with a fur label  but she wasn’t the only celebrity on the list.

Janet Jackson has been named the Grinch of the Year in a poll complied by PETA and WENN.
PETA looked back at the year to single out the three celebs they clashed with most.
Janet's partnership with Blackglama furs for their new line of pelts seems to be what put her over the edge.
A spokeswoman for PETA said:
"While the holidays may be known as the season of giving and peace on earth, that's not always the case for our animal friends.
When Janet Jackson had her infamous wardrobe malfunction during Super Bowl XXXVIII, at least what popped into view of 170 million onlookers belonged to her, unlike the animal skins she drapes herself in, which are as dead as her fashion taste and her career."

The PETA Foundation, who is known for their strong views on animal rights, has coined 'Control' singer Janet Jackson the 2011 “Grinch of the Year”. Per PETA, Jackson's penchant for furs and her collection with the company Blackglama has earned her the title, as confirmed by BET.

Releasing a statement about Janet Jackson’s "Grinch of the Year" title, a PETA spokesperson Wendy Wegner had a few choice words for the singer. “While the holidays may be known as the season of giving in peace on earth, that's not always the case for our animal friends.”

She went on to add, “when Janet Jackson had her infamous wardrobe malfunction during the Super Bowl, at least the flesh that popped into view was her own - unlike the stolen animal skins that she drapes herself with. Ms. Jackson, you’re just plain nasty.”

Aside from getting digs on Janet Jackson about her famous Super Bowl incident, PETA also called out other celebrities for their lack of sensitivity towards animals.

Director Cameron Crowe made the list after using real live animals in his recent movie ‘We Bought a Zoo’, that stars Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson, as well as socialite and reality star Kim Kardashian for wearing real furs, with PETA getting knocks at her short lived marriage. Umbrella singer Rihanna and Kelis also caught the attention of PETA for their wardrobes.

In other new, The Smoking Gun has revealed that Janet Jackson has banned all jokes or rude comments from being made about her family during her tour. According to documents leaked online, the singer has made sure that any act or comedian to perform during her show is not allowed to make any comments about the Jackson clan. "Purchaser ensures that comedian will not make any reference to Janet Jackson or the Jackson family."
While many people are complimenting Janet Jackson on how great she looks in her new Nutrisystem campaign PETA is throwing shade at the Pop icon. (I guess that’s better than throwing paint.) The animal activist group has named Damita Jo as their 2011 “Grinch of the Year” because of her no-so-friendly attire and performance costumes.
The nail in the coffin was when Janet signed on with Blackglama to develop her own line of fashion fur pieces. PETA spokesperson, Wendy Wegner threw a vicious dart at Janet Jackson going for her jugular by bringing up nipplegate.

Other musicians to have angered PETA include Rihanna, who was criticised by the group for donning a top made of ostrich feathers in September this year, and Kelis, who they slated for wearing fur in public.

She responded with a public letter in which she claimed her clothing attire was not as serious as an issue as "women being maimed" the continued use of sweatshops or women's rights in America, all of which should take priority.

According to StarPulse, Jackson will be launching her own fur line in 2012. Jackson has teamed up with Blackglama to create a luxury mink collection, which will feature everything from coats to gloves.

Jackson said:

“The art of fashion is one of my great passions. I’ve worked for years to bring a collection into the world. Partnering with Blackglama is very exciting.”
Of course, Jackson isn’t the only celebrity to offend PETA this year. Cameron Crowe and Kim Kardashian were both high up on the list of celebrity grinches this year.

PETA took issue with Cameron Crowe’s latest movie, “We Bought a Zoo,” because the movie used real animals instead of state-of-the-art computer imaging, and Kim Kardashian because unlike her sister Khloe she hasn’t starred in her own PETA anti-fur ad.

Congratulations to singer Janet Jackson who was named by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals as their 2011 Grinch of the Year. She narrowly beat out Rihanna, Kelis and Kim Kardashian for the dishonor. A PETA spokesperson said that Jackson clinched the award by saying ”When Janet Jackson had her infamous wardrobe malfunction during
