Miss kay's duck commander kitchen

Miss kay's duck commander kitchen
Miss kay's duck commander kitchen
Miss kay's duck commander kitchen, Duck Dynasty' is known for faith, family, ducks......and food of course. (Well, in this case...the words 'duck' and 'food' sort of go hand in hand). In the midst of the bearded men making us laugh non-stop, Miss Kay is usually in the kitchen cooking during most episodes. She married her pioneer man, and she knows how to cook like a pioneer woman.

Have you ever wanted to try garlic frog legs? What about duck wraps? Yes, those are real recipes of Miss Kay Robertson, but if those sound just a little bit extreme for your taste buds, there are other options for you.

Kay is also known for making a scrumptious banana pudding recipe. That sounds fairly traditional, right? You never know...Kay's recipe just may become your new favorite version of this popular dessert. The best part? It also looks to be fairly easy. See for yourself....

Miss Kay's Banana Pudding
INGREDIENTS
2 sticks of butter
2 cups of sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
¾ cup of all-purpose flour
1 12 oz. can of Pet Milk (evaporated milk)
¾ cup of milk
6 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 bag vanilla wafers
2 bananas, sliced
DIRECTIONS
1.In a large double boiler melt the butter and then add the sugar, salt, flour, evaporated milk and regular milk. Stir with a whisk.
2.Add the egg yolks to the mixture, constantly stirring until thick. Add the vanilla extract.
3.Place the vanilla wafers and bananas into a 9" x 13" Pyrex dish. Then pour in mixture.
4.Chill before serving.

Can you handle that? Most ingredients on the list seem like a kitchen normalcy. Just think...if you double the recipe, you can use up your whole entire dozen sized crate of eggs at once. Rotten eggs never smell good, so use them up as quickly as you can. Here is your excuse! The fact that this recipe is obviously fattening probably means that it is also incredible, addictive, unforgettable, and a lifetime keeper. Besides....there are bananas in it, and bananas are healthy! If Miss Kay makes it.....it has GOT to be good!

Where can you snag more of Miss Kay's delicious recipes?

The above options are a good starting place for you. Not only does this fun family appear on A & E for our viewing pleasure, they are also sharing some of their personal family recipes with us. How cool is that?

With Thanksgiving around the corner, perhaps the Robertson family has motivated you to replace turkey with duck or squirrel this season? Perhaps not, but there are still plenty of options for you! Maybe you can win the 'best dessert' award for bringing her banana pudding to the big annual family dinner this year?

Will Miss Kay share more recipes with us in the future? There's only one way to find out! Keep watching A & E on Wednesday nights!
