'X-Factor's' Astro Signs Record Deal With L.A. Reid & Epic Records

After an impressive run on FOX's Hit Series, X-Factor, Brian "Astro" Bradley has reportedly inked a deal with his mentor, L.A. Reid, at Epic Records, reports MTV News. Once the Brownsville, Brooklyn rapper was eliminated on the December 1st, 2011 episode, there were rumors that the 15 year-old would be signing with Jay-Z's Roc Nation label.
However, Astro's stepfather Colin West, couldn't confirm that to be the truth when asked by XXL. “We can't talk about anything right now.” West told XXL.
Astro will be formally announce his new record deal on today's (January 18) episode of MTV 'RapFix Live' at 4PM ET.
X Factor USA's Astro has signed a record deal with L.A. Reid at Epic records, joining the contest's winner Melanie Amaro.
The 15-year-old rapper was devastated when he was ousted from the comepition a couple of months ago, but it seems judge Reid couldn't let his talent slip away. "NYC #ASTROnauts pick up the Daily News today. Page 11. Great news for #TeamASTRO! Everyone else can tune in to @MTVRapFix at 4pm on MTV.com," Astro wrote on his Twitter, teasing the news.
In the interview with the New York Daily News, Astro says: "It's like a dream. . . . I can finally say I'm working on my album."
Astro has already launched his career by featuring on Cher Lloyd's latest single Want U Back. Cher has also been signed by Reid to join the Epic rosta, while X Factor USA winner Melanie was signed last month.
